What does the published scientific research say about Acidovorax delafieldii?
The first study (PMID 15883876) evaluated A. delafieldii ATH2-2RS/1 as a weed-deleterious rhizobacterium — the kind of research growers searching for bioherbicidal or biocontrol alternatives might encounter. Formulated in alginate beads at 10⁹ CFU per plant, the isolate colonized both velvetleaf and corn rhizospheres, reaching 1–5 × 10⁷ CFU/g root in corn and producing cyanide at 1 mM/g root in that host. It did not, however, consistently reduce velvetleaf growth, in contrast to the companion Pseudomonas putida isolate tested alongside it. Neither organism inhibited corn growth.
