What does the published scientific research say about Hanseniaspora uvarum?

Source: PubMed and scientific literature databases

Reported targets include Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium expansum, Aspergillus flavus, and Phytophthora nicotianae. Volatile organic compound (VOC) production — particularly ethyl acetate — is a primary cited mechanism; one study reports up to 95.8% reduction in tomato Phytophthora rot under controlled conditions. Research on 'Hanseniaspora uvarum biocontrol efficacy' has also shown that trehalose pre-treatment upregulates biocontrol-associated proteins including peroxiredoxin TSA1 and superoxide dismutase in the literature.

The literature further cites certain H. uvarum strains as potential detoxifying agents for aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A on grapes, attributed partly to cell-wall adsorption. The species also appears among endophytic yeasts testing positive for indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production in fruit-based studies, relevant to searches around 'Hanseniaspora uvarum plant growth promotion'.
