What does the published scientific research say about Streptomyces fradiae?

Source: PubMed and scientific literature databases

Five PubMed articles place Streptomyces fradiae in plant-input contexts. Strain NKZ-259 is reported in peer-reviewed research to produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) — a primary plant growth hormone — at up to 82.4 μg/mL under optimized conditions. A published tomato seedling trial using a kaolin-based NKZ-259 formulation documented roughly two-fold increases in root and shoot length versus untreated controls, with authors citing these results as evidence of plant growth promotion potential for S. fradiae.

The literature also identifies S. fradiae among endophytic actinomycetes with antagonistic activity against Sclerotium rolfsii, the cause of chickpea collar rot. Greenhouse trials in published research recorded mortality reductions of 42–75% and biomass increases of 1.2–2.0 fold in chickpea plants inoculated with isolates including Streptomyces fradiae compared to uninoculated controls.
