LiveWhat does the published scientific research say about Suillus granulatus?
Source: PubMed and scientific literature databases
In a mining-site study, Suillus granulatus was identified as one of four pioneer ectomycorrhizal species dominating root-tip colonization of Pinus massoniana in lead-zinc mine tailings, where immature soil conditions limited the fungal community to stress-tolerant pioneers. One study also noted that S. granulatus colonized the rhizosphere of Casuarinaceae hosts but did not form true ectomycorrhizas on those species — a host-range limitation the literature documents directly.
