Brand Maven Partners with AAPFCO to Launch a Redesigned Biostimulant List

Ahead of AAPFCO’s Annual Meeting (August 26–28, 2026), Brand Maven gave the app it originally built for AAPFCO a cleaner, more user-friendly redesign, here’s why that matters more than it might sound.

Biostimulants sit in a strange spot in the regulatory landscape. The category has grown faster than most states’ frameworks for regulating it, which has left manufacturers piecing together compliance requirements state by state, often with little consistency in terminology, review criteria, or timelines. The AAPFCO Biostimulant List exists to bring some order to that, a shared, authoritative reference point that regulators, manufacturers, and distributors can all point to.

We know that tool well, because we built it. Brand Maven originally designed the Biostimulant List app for AAPFCO, and this update is a redesign in the truest sense, not new functionality, but a meaningful upgrade to how the List looks and feels to use.

Why a Usability Refresh, and Why Now

A resource like this only does its job if people can actually use it without friction. Over time, even a well-built tool can start to feel dated or harder to navigate than it needs to be. This redesign focused on exactly that: a cleaner interface, clearer navigation, and a faster path to the information someone needs, whether that’s a regulator confirming a product’s status or a manufacturer checking where they stand before entering a new state. The underlying data and the List’s authority haven’t changed; how easy it is to get to that data has.

What Changed

The redesign centers on look and usability rather than new features: a modernized, more intuitive interface, easier navigation, and a faster way to find and confirm a product’s status.

Why This Matters for the Industry

A clearer, more usable List benefits more than just the companies already on it:

It gives manufacturers a faster way to confirm a product’s current status before committing resources to a new market. It gives regulators a more reliable, consistent reference to work from when reviewing new submissions. And it gives the biostimulant category as a whole more credibility, a well-maintained, transparent list is part of what separates an emerging category from an established one in the eyes of regulators and buyers.

The timing reinforces that: AAPFCO’s Annual Meeting brings together the regulators and industry members who shape how biostimulants get reviewed state by state, making it a natural moment to put a refreshed List in front of the people who use it most.

Where Brand Maven Fits In From Here

Having built the List in the first place doesn’t change what we do day to day for clients, it deepens it. We already monitor changes like this as part of how we manage our clients’ fertilizer and amendment portfolios; knowing this tool from the inside out means we can tell you exactly what’s different and what isn’t.

If you manufacture biostimulants and want a second set of eyes on where your products stand on the new List, book a complimentary consultation and we’ll walk through it together.
